TYTRON®
A revolutionary new technology for masonry cement
Product Description
TYTRON® is a proprietary technology developed at the research laboratories of GCP Applied Technologies. It represents a revolutionary new chemistry for use in the production of cement for masonry applications.
Designed to be interground during the cement manufacturing process, Tytron use allows cement manufacturers to achieve performance consistent with the requirements of ASTM C 91-95c Standard Specification for Masonry Cement. In addition, its use provides important performance benefits such as excellent workability, long board life and superior water retention. Tytron is supplied in a stable solution so that storage and use in a variety of different conditions and climates is never a problem.
For special cases where extra performance is desired by the masonry manufacturer or user, the basic Tytron formulation can be modified to produce enhanced performance in the areas of workability, board life, water retention and/or strength. These additional benefits can essentially be added through “custom-designing” by GCP technical personnel to produce the Tytron S, Tytron A, Tytron R, or Tytron W variants. Combinations of benefits may also be obtained, through the use of such products as Tytron WA, Tytron SA, etc as desired
by the customer. Such custom formulations would typically require laboratory work by GCP Applied Technologies utilising the customer’s raw materials followed by a plant trial for formula optimisation, with the ultimate goal being a product which is uniquely suited for the specific raw materials and performance requirements of a plant.
