Product Description
TYTRO® HC 270 is a ready-to-use aqueous solution of chemical compounds specifically designed to stabilise the hydration of shotcrete. The ingredients are factory pre-mixed in exact proportions under strict quality control to provide uniform results. One litre weighs approximately 1.15kg ± 0.02kg.
TYTRO® HC 270 satisfies the Japan admixture standard JIS A6240 and is approved by ASTM C 494 as a Type D retarder.
Applications
TYTRO® HC 270 is used to stabilise cement hydration in shotcrete system. TYTRO® HC 270 is used in situations where a controlled set time extension is required.
Benefits
The addition of TYTRO® HC 270 provides considerable benefits in the batching and utilisation of the concrete.
- Flexible delivery options
- Avoid cleaning of pumps or pipes during work interruptions
- Complete use of wet and dry mixes – no waste disposal
- Time and cost savings
How TYTRO® HC 270 Works
TYTRO® HC 270 stabilises the hydration process of portland cement preventing it from reaching initial set. This stabilisation is not permanent and is controlled by dosage rate. This stabilised concrete then resumes normal hydration when it is activated by the addition of TYTRO® SA alkali-free accelerator at the nozzle. The result is shotcrete with normal plastic and hardened properties.
Packaging
TYTRO® HC 270 is available in bulk, and 205L drums. It contains no flammable ingredients. TYTRO® HC 270 will freeze, but will return to full effectiveness after thawing and thorough mechanical agitation.
Compatibility
TYTRO® HC 270 is compatible in with all TYTRO® shorcrete admixtures. It is necessary to make a preliminary evaluation of the desired properties and to make product adjustments accordingly.
Addition Rates
Addition rates of TYTRO® HC 270 for shotcrete varies between 0.2% and 1% by weight of cement. The amount used will depend on the specific materials involved, concrete age, temperature conditions, and stabilisation period. Consult your local GCP representative.
