TAVERO® AG 6400

Product Description

TAVERO® AG 6400 is a chemical additive used as a cement constituent (European Standard EN 197, point 5.5) to improve the manufacture and properties of cements.

Recommended Addition Rate

The addition rate  of TAVERO AG 6400 is typically in the range of 200g  to 400g/t of treated cement. However the optimum addition rate of TAVERO AG 6400 depends on the characteristics  of  the  material and the grinding circuit and is normally assessed through industrial tests. GCP personnel are available for assistance.
Deviation from the optimum cannot guarantee the expected results and could have an impact on cement characteristics.
Overdosing can lead to a reduction in mill retention time and a possible loss of grinding efficiency, together with “mill flushing” and excessive flowability.

Physical Properties

Appearance     Brown liquid
Density (g/L)  1,060 - 1,080  (1.051)
pH                    11.0 - 13.0 (11.0)

Product Advantages

TAVERO AG 6400 is a grinding aid for cement, which reduces the tendency of re-agglomeration of the fine particles, formed during the communition process.
TAVERO AG 6400 permits improvements to the flowability of the finished cement, the efficiency of the mill and separator, and thus increases the production rate with a corresponding reduction in grinding energy consumption.
Cement produced with TAVERO AG 6400 has a  lower pack-set tendency and hence can provide advantages during loading and unloading operations.

Typical Applications

TAVERO AG 6400 can be used for the grinding of most cements in open and closed circuit systems.

Mill applications are:

  • Portland cements
  • Portland blended cements

Certification

TAVERO AG 6400 meets the requirements of EN 197.

How To Use

TAVERO AG 6400 should be added on to the feed belt or injected pure or diluted (also with the cooling water) into the mill. For an accurate proportioning of TAVERO AG 6400 a volumetric metering pump is suitable. Should conditions require using more than recommended addition rates, please consult your local GCP representative.

Packaging

TAVERO AG 6400 is supplied in 205L drums, in 1,000L plastic containers or bulk. Shelf life is at least 24 months if stored in manufacturer’s containers.

Precaution For Storage

TAVERO AG 6400 does not require particular precaution for storage. However it should be protected from freezing. For tanks and containers placed outside a heating system or a re-mixing device is recommended. It is also better to insulate exposed pipelines.

Health and Safety

Read and understand the product label and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) if handling the product directly. All users should acquaint themselves with this information prior to working with the product and follow the precautionary statements. SDSs can be obtained by contacting your local GCP representative or office.
