GCP De-air Entrainment Admixture NULAIR® 173 is a ready-to-use aqueous solution of chemical compounds specifically designed to reduce excessive air levels in concrete mixes. NULAIR 173 is typically added at the concrete batch plant at time of batching. The ingredients are factory pre-mixed in exact proportions under strict quality control to ensure uniform results. One litre weigh;s approximately 1.0kg ± 0.02kg.
NULAIR 173 contains no TEA and complied to AS 1478 as a Type SN. NULAIR 173 contains no chlorides.
GCP De-Air Entraining Admixture NULAIR 173 is recommended for use in concrete where control of excessive air is required. Variations in air content can be expected due to type and dose rate of admixtures, variations in aggregate proportions and gradation, mixing time, temperature, and slump.
When entrained air is measured and considered excessive, NULAIR 173 can be used to reduce and stabilise the air content of the concrete mix.
Addition rates for NULAIR 173 will vary from 300 to 1,000mL / m3. The amount will depend on the degree of air reduction required to achieve the target air requirements for the mix.
Compliance dose rate is 700mL / m3.
NULAIR 173 is compatible with concrete admixtures from GCP Applied Technologies. Please consult your local GCP representative for use with other non-GCP admixtures. Pre-project trials should be completed for each application. In normal mixing NULAIR 173 will be added during the end of the mixing cycle, i.e, after all other admixtures are added.
NULAIR 173 is available in bulk 1,000-litre totes. Shelf life is 12 months.
NULAIR 173 needs periodic agitation during use. GCP will supply the equipment for required agitation.
