DARATARD® RE 900 is a ready-to-use aqueous solution of chemical compounds specifically designed to stabilise cement hydration for long life concrete applications. DARATARD RE 900 is typically added to the concrete mix at the time of batching. The ingredients are factory pre-mixed in exact proportions under strict quality control to provide uniform results. One litre weights approximately 1.15kg ± 0.02kg. DARATARD RE 900 complies to AS1478 as a Type SRe.

Applications

DARATARD RE 900 is recommended for all types of concrete requiring additional hydration control, such as:

  • Tremie mixes
  • Long life concrete
  • Sprayed concrete (shotcrete)

DARATARD RE 900 is ideal for use in applications where additional hydration control is required to extend the workability of the concrete. It provides flexibility in many applications requiring long slump retention or hydration stabilising. DARATARD RE 900 will provide long slumps life concrete when used in combination with polycarboxylate (PC) admixtures such as MIRA® or ADVA®.     Admixture Compatibility

    DARATARD RE 900 is compatible with concrete admixtures from GCP Applied Technologies.

    Dosage Levels

    Addition rates for DARATARD RE 900 will range, depending on application and circumstances.

    Typically:

    • Tremie mixes / Long life concrete
      200 - 500mL / 100kg
    • Spray applications
      200 - 500mL / 100kg

    The amount to be used will depend upon the degree of additional hydration control required under job conditions. Longer delivery times or higher temperatures will require higher addition rates. Conversely, the addition rate will be lower for shorter extensions of time and when combined with an extended slump life superplasticiser such as ADVA. Addition levels should be reviewed with your local GCP representative.

    DARATARD RE 900 can be used to stabilise cement hydration in shotcrete when incorporated with an Alkali-free Accelerator added at the nozzle. In shotcrete, pre- construction trials are recommended with mix ingredients and Alkali-free Accelerator to determine actual dose rate levels to match slump retention requirements.

    Packaging

    DARATARD RE 900 is available in bulk and 205 litre drums. The product will begin to freeze at about -2°C, but will return to full strength after thawing and thorough agitation.
