Why VYCOR® enV-S™?
Dan Meehan, a retired Ohio architect, would drive by house projects observing mechanically fastened wrap blowing in the wind. House wrap was especially on his mind because he would soon be designing and building his own retirement home on Lake Erie.
Dan asked himself 'How is that going to work by a lake with very strong winds?' He was also concerned with the horizontal blowing rain, he said.
Dan's answer: VYCOR® enV-S™ fully-adhered weather resistant barrier.
"The only way to get full coverage consistently, was to use VYCOR® enV-S™", said Dan, alluding to the fact that the product is fully self-adhered.
The wall system:
- 2x6 studs
- Foam insulation
- Weather resistant barrier (VYCOR® enV-S™)
- Rain screen
- Cladding or brick
The key, Dan said, is a whole, blended system that works really well for energy efficiency and weather protection.
