Tough, light-weight, protection sheet

Product Description

A highly impact-resistant extruded thermoplastic sheeting material. Its unique multi-fluted design gives increased strength, impact, puncture and damage resistance.

Product Uses

PROTECTOBOARD™ is used to protect all GCP liquids and sheet membranes, as well GCP waterproof membranes. It protects basement or lift-pit walls, retaining walls, planter boxes and landscaped podium decks. PROTECTOBOARD™ is also used to protect carpet, marble, vanity tops, benches and lift walls and floors, during construction.

Substrate Preparation

Inspect waterproofing for damage and repair as required.

Application

Install PROTECTOBOARD™ sheets to clean dry surface.

  • Hold in place with adhesive compound or tape.
  • Apply adhesive materials at 300-500mm centres.
  • Butt joint sheets to give a neat finish. Joints may also be sealed with PVC waterproof tape.
  • Use PROTECTOFLASH™ metal retention flashing as top edge detail, fixed at approximately 300mm centres.
  • Do not damage waterproof membrane with fixings.

Landscaped podiums and planter boxes may use RAPID-DRAIN™ geo-composite drainage cell on floors (covering and protecting floor waste).

NOTE

  • As PROTECTOBOARD™ is very lightweight, it should be securely restrained to prevent displacement by wind.
  • Not suitable for permanent exposure.

Coverage

Each sheet of PROTECTOBOARD™ will cover approximately 2m2.

Packaging

PROTECTOBOARD™ sheet size is 1.83m x 1.22m or rolls of 1.22m x 50m. Other grades and sizes may be available by special request.

In case of spills and accidents, refer to the MSDS of the products or when in doubt contact your local GCP representative. Always wear protective clothing, gloves and protective goggles when handling chemical products. For full information, consult the relevant MSDS.

Warranties

GCP and contractors recognised by GCP as experienced in the application of GCP products will provide warranties for individual projects. Warranty periods offered are dependent on project details and complexity. Requests for very long warranty periods may necessitate increased membrane thicknesses to ensure longevity.
