Preparation
Surfaces shall be clean, free from dirt, coatings, oil, wax and loose matter. All surface defects, holes etc. shall be made good with CHEMBOND™ modified mortar. Concrete should be smooth and brick joints flush.
Mixing
Measure required volumes of Part A and Part B into a suitable clean container. Mix together with low speed electric drill, allow to stand 5 minutes then re-mix.
Mix amounts that can be used within 20 minutes. Cold conditions will slow cure. Hot conditions reduce pot life.
Application
Apply one or two coats of mixed CHEMCOTE™ W by brush or roller to all surfaces, including corners, penetrations and surface cracks to uniformly seal the surface.
Reinforcing Fibreglass Mat may be embedded at corners, outlets and penetrations for increased strength.
Roller application will be assisted by use of 5 - 10% MULTITEK™ Xylene. Allow to dry fully between coats.
NOTE
- Discard material that has started to gel.
- When applying over internal clay brick walls moisture trapped within brickwork may cause deterioration.
Surfacing
- If a non-slip surface is required, hand broadcast clean fine sand into the first body coat.
- Over painting with water based paints or GCP membranes must be done within 24 hours. Otherwise abrasive sanding is required to provide a key.
Coverage
Consumption is 2-3 m2/ litre.
Packaging
CHEMCOTE™ W is available in 3.2 litre sets and 14 litre sets
Shelf Life
Unopened containers of CHEMCOTE™ W will have a minimum shelf life of 12 months from date of manufacture, when stored in a dry, cool place.
Clean-up
Generally use Throw-Away disposable brushes and rollers. MULTITEK™ Solvent may assist cleaning.
Handling
- General precautions should be taken to avoid skin contact. Use appropriate PPE.
- Should skin contact occur, wash the affected area with soap and water.
All operatives should be made fully aware of CHEMCOTE™ W MSDS information.
